Continuous Glucose Monitors (CGMs) are becoming increasingly popular—used not only in diabetes care but also in wellness spaces, weight loss programs, and among individuals navigating disordered eating. While marketed as tools for insight and optimisation, their use in eating disorder populations can present complex clinical challenges.

For nutrition professionals, this raises important questions: Are CGMs helpful or harmful in this context? What does the evidence say? And how do we respond when clients are already using—or asking about—these devices?

This intermediate-level webinar is designed to equip you with the knowledge and confidence to navigate CGM use in eating disorder care. Led by expert dietitian Beth Fancois, you'll explore the science behind CGMs, review the latest evidence, and learn how to address the potential psychological and physical risks in a compassionate, client-centred way. Expect practical strategies, clinical insights, and real-world examples to support your everyday practice.

Level: Intermediate

Who Should Attend: This webinar is designed for health professionals who support individuals with eating disorders and disordered eating, particularly those who are interested in the use of CGMs within this population group.

This session is ideal for professionals with experience in eating disorder treatment who want to comprehensively understand CGM technology, its evolving applications, the current evidence base in non-diabetic and eating disordered populations and the potential psychological and physical risks associated with their use, to ensure safe and informed practice.

What People are saying about this webinar:

I loved the presentation and topic.

Very timely as patients are always asking about glucose monitoring

Content of the session was well balanced and up to date.

Very timely webinar and will be very useful for ongoing practice as this method of treating diabetes is more and more common as well as non-diabetics considering using it tooI've been surprised that so far, I have not had any patients using CGM (or that I know of) but have always thought there would be a risk of using programmes such as Zoe.

This webinar saved me doing a lot of the work in that everything I wanted to know was included. Extremely useful and I feel well placed / more confident regarding the evidence to be able to discuss this with patients. Thank you Sarah and Beth.
